Excel invoicing alternative

Excel invoices are flexible. WOPA is harder to forget.

Excel is a familiar way to build invoice templates. WOPA is for tradespeople who would rather send a WhatsApp message, generate a PDF invoice, and keep payment chasing out of their head.

Decision guide

Choose based on how you actually work.

Excel is a good fit when

You only send a few invoices, already maintain spreadsheets carefully, and prefer full manual control over layout, formulas, and records.

WOPA is a good fit when

Your invoices start as WhatsApp messages, job notes, or quick phone admin, and the expensive part is remembering to send and chase them.

Use accounting software when

You need MTD filing, bank feeds, expense bookkeeping, VAT returns, payroll, or accountant collaboration inside a recognised accounting product.

Use both carefully when

You want WOPA for day-to-day invoicing and a spreadsheet or accountant workflow for records. Make sure records are complete and not duplicated.
