Plumbers · Invoice template
The UK plumber invoice template, and what to put on it.
A plumber's invoice has its own quirks — the callout charge, parts versus labour, and emergency or out-of-hours rates. Here is what to include, a free template, and a faster way to send them.
The checklist
What a plumber's invoice should include.
| Field | Notes for plumbers |
|---|---|
| Your business name and address | Plus contact details and, if registered, your VAT number. |
| Invoice number and date | Unique and sequential. |
| Customer details | Name and address of who you billed. |
| Callout charge | List it separately from labour so it is clear. |
| Labour and parts | Split them out — customers query a single lump sum more often. |
| Emergency / out-of-hours rate | If it applies, show the rate so there are no surprises. |
| VAT | Show rate and amount if you are VAT-registered. |
| How to pay | Bank details or a payment link. |
This is general information, not tax advice. If you are near the VAT threshold, see the threshold guide below.
The faster way
Skip the template — invoice from WhatsApp.
A template works, but after every callout you re-type the same details and then have to remember to chase. WOPA generates a plumber's invoice from a WhatsApp message — callout, labour, parts and VAT handled — keeps the numbering tidy, and reminds you to follow up. For a plumber doing several jobs a day, that turns evening admin into ten seconds on the doorstep.
