How-to
How to create an invoice in WhatsApp.
There are two ways to send an invoice over WhatsApp: do it manually with a PDF you make elsewhere, or let WOPA generate the invoice from your chat message. Here is both.
The manual way
Make a PDF, then attach it.
The simplest route uses WhatsApp as the delivery channel only. You create the invoice in a tool, a template or a free generator, export it as a PDF, then attach that PDF in the chat with your customer. This works, but it means switching between apps every time you bill a job — and it is easy to forget to follow up.
If you go this route, make sure the invoice includes the details a UK invoice needs: your business name and address, an invoice number and date, a description of the work, the amount due, and how to pay.
The faster way
Let WOPA generate it from the chat.
| Step | What you do |
|---|---|
| 1 | Message WOPA the customer, the job and the amount — type it or send a voice note. |
| 2 | WOPA generates a formatted UK PDF invoice with your details and line items. |
| 3 | Send the invoice to the customer from the same chat. |
| 4 | WOPA reminds you to chase if it is not paid. |
Whichever route you use, the invoice itself is a standard UK invoice. WhatsApp is a valid way to send it — see whether WhatsApp invoicing is legal in the UK.
